Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for its upcoming production of Ken Ludwig’s A Comedy of Tenors. The production reunites members of Paper Mill’s 2013 cast of Lend Me a Tenor (also directed by Don Stephenson), featuring Judy Blazer (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) as Maria, John Treacy Egan (Casa Valentina) as Tito, Donna English (Nice Work If You Can Get It) as Racón, David Josefsberg (An Act of God) as Max, Michael Kostroff (The Wire) as Saunders, Jill Paice (An American in Paris) as Mimi, and newcomer Ryan Silverman (Finian’s Rainbow) as Carlo.
The sequel to the Tony-winning comedy Lend Me a Tenor, A Comedy of Tenors is described as follows: “One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century — as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep the amorous Italian superstar and his hot-blooded wife from causing runaway chaos. An uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.”
The creative teams features set design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Mariah Hale, lighting design by Stephen Terry, sound design by Randy Hansen, and hair and wig design by Paul Huntley.
Performances are set to begin Wednesday, February 1, for a limited run through Sunday, February 26.
